No - All students can access the same classes/services, and the home unit is not reflected on the transcript or diploma. The only difference is if you plan to apply with a GMAT score; the College of Business is the only unit set up to accept GMAT scores. All three are set up to accept the GRE.

How can I check the status of my application?

The confirmation email you receive after you submit your application contains a link to your Application Status Portal.  All updates regarding your admissions process will be posted here.

Do you accept WES evaluations?

No. We do not accept WES evaluations. If you completed your education outside of the United States, we highly recommend using one of the three Georgia Tech-approved credential evaluation services: IEE(link is external)Educational Perspectives(link is external), or SpanTran Pathways(link is external). If admitted to the program, this will significantly speed up the verification process and allow us to issue the I-20 document much more quickly. Should you choose not to use one of these three approved evaluation services, our Graduate Studies Office will do the evaluation in-house, which may result in a slower institute verification if admitted.

What are the minimum GMAT/GRE/GPA requirements?

We do not have minimum GPA or test score requirements, instead, we will take a holistic approach when reviewing applications. Due to the quantitative nature of the coursework in the program, stronger emphasis will be placed on the quantitative scores of the GRE/GMAT exams and the quantitative academic coursework completed from your previous institutions attended.

What is the institute code for the GRE & TOEFL exams?

The institute code for the GRE and TOEFL is 5248. You do not have to specify a department code.

Can I waive the GRE or GMAT?

Candidates with a 3.7 GPA or above who hold a 4-year degree in the United States or a Ph.D. degree may waive the GRE/GMAT requirement.

Do I have to submit official GRE or GMAT scores?

Yes, unless you meet the waiver requirement mentioned above. While we can use the unofficial scores to evaluate your application, we will need to get the official test scores before we can offer admission. GRE or GMAT scores are considered valid if taken within the past five years. If it has been more than five years since you took the exam, you must retake it.

Is work experience required?

We understand that a large majority of our applicants are coming to us fresh out of undergrad so we do not require them to have full-time professional work experience to be considered for admission to the program. It is strongly preferred, however, that candidates have some internship experience (not necessarily related to the finance industry) before applying.

Are there any educational prerequisites that must be satisfied before joining the program?

  • All applicants for the program must have received a US equivalent (4-year) Bachelor's degree.
  • All applicants must also demonstrate through their transcripts that they have a solid quantitative background, including the following: differential and integral calculus of one variable, multivariate calculus, fundamentals of linear algebra and linear systems of equations, differential equations, and probability and statistics. We also prefer that candidates have some programming experience, preferably Python, R, or C++.

Is there an interview?

Competitive candidates will be invited for a 30-minute behavioral interview with the Associate Director via Zoom.

How long will it be before I get my official decision?
